DENTON - More than a hundred community members joined residents of Denton Nursing and Rehab for the facilities first annual Denton Fall Festival to celebrate both the incredible residents and community in which the home serves. The end goal was to bring both together for a fun day of festivities, food, and entertainment.

The day-long event featured bouncy houses, face-painting, pumpkin painting, music and entertainment, carnival games and highlighted a variety of food trucks with multiple cuisines.

“We established the Denton Fall Fest to bring seasonal cheer and a sense of celebration to our residents,” says Denton Nursing and Rehab Activities Director Abigail Gearhart. “Our long-term goal is to build an annual event that gives back to the community while providing an opportunity for families, volunteers, and local community members to come together and connect with residents in a fun and relaxed setting.”

Facility administrators aim to create an opportunity for their residents to foster connection and a sense of belonging with the community. “When the residents at Denton Nursing and Rehab are given opportunity to contribute, create, and connect it fosters a sense of pride, ownership, and belonging,” says Gearhart “Denton Fall Fest is not just an event, it is an opportunity for residents, staff, and the community to come together to celebrate the fall season.  Our goal is to create moments of joy, laughter, and connections. Denton Nursing and Rehab is more than a care facility, this is our resident’s home where they feel safe, respected, and can truly be themselves.”
