A vision years in the making officially came to life today as the Caroline County Commissioners joined Cindy Yost and Pete Brelia of the Town of Greensboro Council, the full Caroline County Recreation and Parks Advisory Board including Nick Liles and Ross Harper, Sheriff Baker, Daniel Fox, Deputy Administrator, Stacy Seward, Deputy Director of Finance, Jamie Beechey, Director of Recreation and Parks, Robin Eaton, Director of Public Works, and Mark Lasocha, Parks and Capital Projects Manager, to officially break ground on the long awaited North County Regional Park.
After years of planning, meetings, grant applications, and big ideas, it was exciting to finally trade paperwork for hard hats and shovels. This project has truly been a team effort, and today was a celebration of everyone who helped move it from a vision on paper to a project officially underway.
Once complete, the park will feature walking trails, athletic fields, playgrounds, gathering spaces, and outdoor recreation opportunities that will give families, kids, athletes, and visitors a place to connect and enjoy everything Caroline County has to offer.
Seeing work officially begin today was a proud moment for everyone involved. The North County Regional Park will become a place for community gatherings, recreation, and making memories for generations of Caroline County residents to come.
