DENTON - Fishing and kayaking enthusiasts gathered to look at vendors' wares at the first ever expo, sponsored by Big Bass USA and supported by the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce.

Photographer Mickey Pullen stopped by to capture folks looking at boats and lures and most things fishing, while enjoying food from a local Boy Scout Troop.

The Expo was developed by Chris Leslie, owner of Big Bass USA. He said the decision to do the expo in Denton was to, "benefit to our fishing community. We wanted to have vendors be able to be seen closer to home."

Leslie said, "We had most of our vendors say they had a good show and we felt we had a good number of people come through the door."

"We are looking already into planning our next show!"

Tracey Snyder, Executive Director of the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce, estimates 375 people attended, and she is pleased with the turnout for a new, first-time event. "The Chamber is always glad to support our members in promoting events and business‑focused activities."

Big Bass USA, located at 10279 River Landing Rd, Denton, MD 21629, is a local kayak retail shop. It speciality is fishing kayaks, but it also offers touring and recreational kayaks as well.
