DENTON - The Caroline County Council of Arts (CCCA) hosted its 3rd annual banner auction on Nov. 14 in Denton.
Each year, CCCA calls on local artists to create artworks that are turned into street light banners and hung along the main streets in Denton. As the town prepares for Christmas, the banners are taken down, but instead of storing or destroying them, the pieces of art are auctioned off as a fundraiser for the council.
"The CCCA raised just over $900. It’s a wonderful way to support local artists and celebrate the arts in our community," said Kyleen Asche with CCCA.
This year's auction was held in person and online.
