Marvin Dallas Bolt of Denton, MD passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Eden Green Assisted Living in Denton, MD. He was 90.
Marvin D. Bolt was born in Port Deposit, MD on May 10, 1935, the son of the late Elmer Bolt and Ella (Dehart) Bolt. He graduated from Greensboro High School in 1953 and began working as a milk truck driver. After a few years he went to work at Standard Brands in Dover, DE and then worked for Delmarva Sash and Door. Eventually he worked for the DuPont Company until his retirement. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Ruth Anna Wooleyhand and the two began their life together. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Seaford, DE. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a die-hard Bill and Chase Elliott fan. Marvin was also a past member of the Whirl-A-Way Square Dancing Club. He also enjoyed traveling with friends and family, gardening, and watching his grandchildren’s games and events.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Anna Bolt, one brother, Kenneth Bolt and one sister, Lois Beddle.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Hayman (Edward) of Greensboro, MD, Cheryl Satterfield (Paul) of Denton, MD, Donna Todd (John) of Denton, MD, seven grandchildren, Holly Trice of Denton, Kyle Satterfield of Harrington, DE, Levi Hayman of Greensboro, Samantha Gill of Denton, Allison Todd of Denton, Cody Satterfield of Denton, Colby Todd of Preston and eleven great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, from 10am-12pm at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home 106 West Sunset Ave Greensboro, MD 21639. A graveside service will follow the visitation in Greensboro Cemetery at 12 noon.
