William Raymond Holden

Born on April 11, 1938, in Ingleside, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Cannon Holden. William was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Goldsboro, MD. He found great joy in coaching soccer and was a member of the American Legion Post 29.

William is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Holden, and a daughter, Tracey Baker (Jeff). He leaves behind a proud legacy in his seven grandchildren: Kyle Terrell-Drake, Stephen Cook, Paige Cook, Max Baker, Alex Baker, Sydney Baker, Tracey Mosley, and five great grandchildren.

He is also lovingly remembered by his four siblings: Wayne Holden, Allan Holden, Bertha Mae Longfellow, and Nancy Faye Culberson, with whom he shared many cherished childhood memories.

William is preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Pamela Mosley, and his brothers David Holden, Harry Holden, and his sister Sandy Schaffner.

A memorial service will be held on August 28, 2025, 11:00 am at The Trinity United Methodist Church in Goldsboro MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to Trinty United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 153, Goldsboro, MD 21636.

An avid craftsman, you could always find him in his garden, working on clocks, woodworking in his shop, or putting together one of his many puzzles. He was proud of his history and enjoyed regaling friends and family with exploits of his youth.

William’s kindness, dedication, and love for his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
