Tamara Lynn Wallace of Goldsboro passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware with her daughters by her side.

Affectionately known as Tammy, she was born on April 23, 1961, in Annapolis, Maryland, to Ralph Jones and Dortha Williams Jones. Tammy spent many years in Edgewater before moving to Greensboro in 1986, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and community.

Tammy worked as a clerk at Bodie’s, KCL Deli and later at Kinnamon’s/Tigar Mart. She was a proud and devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. Tammy found joy in the simple but meaningful things in life — cooking, canning, baking, sewing, mending clothing, and most of all, caring for her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Griffey; her sisters, Mary Hall and Sharon Michael; and her niece, Karisa Bandura.

Tammy is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Wallace of Goldsboro; her daughters, Christina Roose (Michael) of Goldsboro and Michelle Berggren of Goldsboro; her son, Matthew O’Callaghan of Chestertown; her sisters, Helen Richardson of West Virginia and Ronnie Valentine (Todd) of Stevensville; her stepchildren, Aaron Wallace (Lynette) of Bowie, Courtney Sohyda (John) of Bowie, and Becky Wallace of Thurmont; and her brother-in-law, Russell Hall, affectionately known as “Fluffy,” of Lewes, Delaware.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her twelve grandchildren: Jarrett, Maxwell, Alyssa, Kayden, MaKayla, Mattilynn, Mackenzie, Margaret, Amber, Gabriel, Melody, and Avery, who were the light of her life.

A service will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Tamara Wallace’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 1120 Market Street, Denton, MD 21629.
