PRESTON – After an uncontested election, Commissioner Janice Isenberg will keep her seat on the Preston Town Commission, and newcomer David Casey Motley will join the Commission.
Two seats were available on the five-person Preston Town Commission, one belonging to current Commissioner Janice Isenberg, and the other the remaining term of Commission President Savannah Winston, who is stepping down to seek a County Commissioner position.
With 35 total votes cast, 18 were for Isenberg to retain her seat. She will now serve until April 2031. David Casey Motley - the Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston - received 16 votes and will take on the rest of Winston’s term until April 2029. There was one write-in vote.
Isenberg and Casey Motley will be officially sworn in at the next Preston Town Commission meeting on Monday, May 4.
