In the shelter we see so many different personalities, some match well together, while others not so much. Then there is the rare dog like Downy who is a friend to all. He’s yet to meet a dog or human that he didn’t want to be instant besties with.
His flopping ears and puppy-like charm instantly wrap your heart in warmth and sunshine. A light that refuses to dim no matter what he went through in his past or how long the journey home takes. Some dogs have a quiet determination, steady and patient, and then there’s dogs like Downy. Unending optimism and the ability to make the best of it.
We all need that friend in our lives, the one that’s always there to bring a smile to your face with his goofy ears, his playful silliness and his love of play.
