Marguerite Zott

Marguerite P. "Maggie" Zott, of Bridgeville, DE, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Tidal Health - Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, MD. She was 80 years old.

Maggie was born in Greensboro, MD on August 19, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Anna (Elliott) Passwaters, and she grew grew up around Liden School Rd. Following high school Maggie moved to Seaford, DE and went to work at Dupont, eventually making her home in Bridgeville, DE.

Maggie spent most of her professional life with Dupont. She held various positions over the years, but when she retired she was head of employee benefits. Due to her experience working in the office and working with office machines she taught those skills at Sussex Tech. She helped introduce computer use into several local law offices when computers were a new tool.

In her free time Maggie enjoyed shopping and was known for her crocheting and cooking. She didn't get to travel often, but when she did it brought her much joy. She was a member of Bloomery United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a former board member of what was Tide Mark Federal Credit Union.

Maggie is survived by two sisters Esther Smith and Valerie Passwaters; a niece Sherry Townsend; a nephew Martin E. Passwaters, Jr.; an uncle Donald Tull . She is also survived by a number of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Martin E. Passwaters, Sr., and one sister Virginia "Ginny" Passwaters.

A memorial service will be held at Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg on Saturday, October 17, 2026 starting at 12pm. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bloomery Cemetery.
