Madeline George 90 years old of Preston Md, passed away on Sunday August 2, 2026.

She was born April 4, 1936 in Vienna Md to the late Eunice Bowens and Clyde Jackson. She was the only child. Madeline spent her earlier days making money on her family farm at the tender age of four. She knew how to make money and save it. Madaline showed an interest in design and style at a very early age as well. She started working in a sewing factory where she could show her keen eye of making something out of nothing.

She was educated in Dorchester county public school. She proceed her education at Timshell School of Cosmetology where she graduated with honors. Madaline received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Detroit and a Masters Degree in St. Louis. She was the owner and manager of Madaline's House of Beauty.

August 4,1956 Madaline married the love of her life John. They spent 70 loving, devoted years together. Madeline's hobbies include, designing clothes, flowers, modeling, doing hair and traveling.

Madaline was a member of the Eastern Shore Beauticians Association #122, the Maryland State Beauticians Association and the National Beauty Cultural League, Inc. Madaline has won many awards for modeling and has traveled extensively throughout the United States with the organization.

Madaline has been a Daughter of the Elks for many years. Her first Elk family was Progressive of Dorchester Temple #223, Cambridge, MD. She later transferred her membership to Pride & Joy Temple #814, which merged with Bright Hope Temple #233 to become Bright With Pride Temple #1375. Madaline has served as Daughter Ruler of the Temple on several occasions and in numerous other capacities.

Madeline was preceded in death by her loving parents, aunts and uncles Roland, Lester, Edison, Harold, Brice, Virginia, Ida, Betty and Rosalee Bowens, like a sister Mazie Pearson, and forever friends Margaret Elbert and Jeanette Russell

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Her Husband John George, Three Children Everick Bowens (Helen), Sandra Barnett (Lewis) and Cheryl George, Three Grandchildren Takenya Townsend, Jamel Bowens and Asia George Three Great-Grandchildren Markiesha Barnett, Anthony Mosley, and Jamel Bowens and Two Great-great grandchildren Travon and Tayvon Nichols and bonus daughter Paulette Slaugther, bonus granddaughter Nicole Caudell a special sister/cousin Brenda Stanley and forever friend Agnes Hubbard and a host of cousins,family and friends.

A memorial service for Madaline will take place Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 1:00 at Union United Methodist Church in Federalsburg, Maryland.
