Lewis David "Dave" Kibler passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30th. He was 81. Born on February 12th, 1944, in Greensboro, Maryland, to the late John Kibler and Maude Combs. He attended Greensboro High School.
Dave was raised on the family farm in Greensboro, Maryland where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work.
Dave married the love of his life, Lori, a relationship with whom he shared 33 years of steadfast devotion and daily prayers. A man of quiet faith, Dave lived by his principles, embodying kindness and integrity in every aspect of his life.
Dave had a wide array of interest finding joy in playing tennis, golfing, skiing, camping, horseback riding, white water rafting, and exploring new places with Lori. He relished crossing items off his bucket list, marveling at landmarks like the Hoover Dam and the Panama Canal. Dave started his working career logging and worked many years for Kent Soil Conservation in Delaware. He had a lifetime love of heavy equipment and joined his brothers in starting Kibler Brothers Excavation. His passion for operating heavy equipment led him to start his own business L.D. Kibler Excavation. He worked for a number of local farmers and businesses his expertise was unparalleled. Dave received recognition in a ceremony by the county commissioners for clearing out the Choptank river to make it navigatable with kayaks and canoes and was presented with a signed oar. He found delight in simple pleasures enjoying meals with family and indulging in sci-fi movies.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Josephine Farmer, Janet Draper, James Combs, Lester Kibler, Roger Kibler and daughters, Angela Kibler and Megan Burch.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lori Kibler, of Denton, Maryland; his children Kathy Kibler, of Seaford, Delaware; Brandon Pleasanton and fiancée April Tucker of Denton; Nicole Pleasanton of Delmar,and Ashley Pleasanton of Federalsburg; his brothers John Michael Kibler of Marydel, George Kibler his wife Doris of Danville California and Donald Kibler of Greensboro; his sisters Pauline Porter and her husband Clarence of Denton, Elizabeth Roe and her husband Dale of Hurlock; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dave’s story does not end with his passing it will continue with the love he gave and the work he accomplished. His legacy of perseverance and ingenuity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
