RIDGELY – In a tight race, town residents elected Chad Leister to a 3-year term to the Ridgely Town Commission Monday, April 28. Brad Sears won the 1-year term.
The election was held from 1 to 7 p.m. at the town hall, 2 Central Ave.
Four candidates vied for two seats on the Commission. Leister won with 121 votes. John Buckle and Brad Sears tied for the 1-year term with 101 votes each, and they had to draw straws according to the town charter. Jamie Romph garnered 91 votes.
The candidates were incumbents John Buckle and Brad Sears, returning candidate Chad Leister and first-time candidate Jamie Romph. Commissioner John Hurley’s term expires in 2027.
