Caroline County Judy Centers support children, parents, and extended family

Posted

We are excited to partner with the Caroline Review and share information about what we do. The Federalsburg and Greensboro Judy Center Early Learning Hubs are looking for families and partners to join in our adventures during the 2024-2025 school year.

The Judy Center Early Learning Hub utilizes a multi-generational approach, recognizing that young children are dependent upon their caregivers for all their needs. We work to improve the quality of life for the families we serve and help prepare children from birth through five years of age for school readiness.

In order to be eligible for Judy Center Early Learning Hub programming, you must meet one of three criteria:

Be the parent/guardian/family of a child 0 - 5 years of age who either:

  • lives within the Greensboro or Federalsburg school attendance areas
  • OR lives in Caroline County has an active Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • OR resides in Caroline County and is experiencing homelessness.

If you meet one of the above criteria, you are eligible to participate in the Judy Center Early Learning Hub program.

The Judy Center Early Learning Hub programming is developed with funds from the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood. A Judy Center Early Learning Hub bridges the home/school gap by forming relationships with children and families at a younger age.

We bring younger children into early childhood educational environments in several ways:

We provide playgroups and family events held at the Judy Center or in our home schools.

  • We provide families with resource referrals to partners, family goal development and provide materials for the child and family to be successful in school and in life.
  • We partner with high quality, licensed childcare providers in Caroline County. Childcare partners provide access to safe nurturing learning environments for children while their families work and/or go to school.
  • We work with our provider partners to host professional development opportunities, co-host family engagements, and provide support for the Judy Center eligible children/families in their care.
  • We have partnerships with various community organizations that focus on children and families. We collaborate with them to bring their valuable services to our families either through playgroup visits or by attending/hosting outreach events.

Our mission is to empower the child’s first and best teachers - their families. Providing positive learning opportunities and experiences enabled families to build on what they have learned and continue similar experiences independently.
