Gene Richard “Rick” Middleton Jr., 63, of Goldsboro, MD, passed away at his home on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 27, 1962, in Easton, MD, he was the son of Mr. Gene Middleton Sr. and Mrs. Tamera Nichols Middleton. Rick was a proud graduate of North Caroline High School, Class of 1980. After graduation, he went to work alongside his father at Bay Sales and Rathell Farm Equipment. He later joined Choptank Electric, where he worked as a mechanic for 36 years until his retirement.
Rick played modified pitch softball until the age of 51 and enjoyed coaching Little League baseball for many years. He loved crabbing and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt. Rick also enjoyed gardening, hunting, working on tractors for tractor pulls, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Julie Strauss; his nephew, Justin Middleton; his grandfather, Tootsie Middleton; and his grandmother, Isabelle Nichols.
Rick is survived by his parents; his three children, Danielle Middleton (Miguel) of Ridgely, MD, Gene Middleton III of West Virginia, and Dillion Middleton of Goldsboro, MD; his brother, Mike Middleton (Jenni) of Preston, MD; two grandchildren, Miguel Marrero Jr. and JT Coultas, both of Ridgely, MD; and his nephews, Mitch, Nick, and Ben. He will also be lovingly remembered by his faithful dog, Milo.
