Gary Keith Blades, 65, of Greensboro, passed away on July 14, 2026.
Born on February 24, 1961, in Salisbury, Maryland, Gary was the son of the late Dewey Eldon Blades and Constance Turner Blades. Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after a distinguished career. During his military service, he worked in the Jet Engine Shop, where his dedication and expertise were greatly valued.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Blades; his sister, Carolyn Wanex (Greg); and his two brothers, Philip Blades and Joe Blades. He is also survived by his stepson, James Bowman and his wife, Kristen, along with their six children: Alanis, Brandon, Chloe, David, Ethan, and Finlay; his stepdaughter, Rebecca Bowman, and her three children, Bobby, Damien, and Christian; his stepson, Erik Stinson; and his great-granddaughter, Melody.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, July 27, at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
