Convalescing leads to business opportunity

Years later, Ritter is thankful for success

On Market Street in downtown Denton, Maryland, there is a store front with sheer curtains in the windows. The sign tells you a lot about what goes on inside, but speaking with Robyn Ritter, the owner of The Paperwork Pros, tells you the depth of services they provide.

Robyn did taxes for 28 years and was already considering retirement from her job of 20 years as the financial secretary for Caroline County Public Schools, when she took a nasty fall and needed time to recover from broken bones. While she convalesced, her sons would bring her taxes to be prepared from people in the community.

Soon she was so busy preparing taxes for people that retirement became necessary so she could pursue the business full time. She sat downwithafriendandbrain-stormedalltheservicesthatthelocalcommunitycouldneed.What came out of that brain-storming was a full service business model that can provide everything fromtaxesandaccountingtoprivatemailboxesandvirtualreceptionistservices.

The Paperwork Pros is an authorized drop off location for both UPS and Fedex, offers print and copy services, including binding, and they even do title and tag work. You need a Maine tag for your boat trailer? The Paperwork Pros. You need a bookkeeper for your small business? The Paperwork Pros. You need a notary? The Paperwork Pros. They even do LLC formation and simple wills.

When asked about the community response, Robyn said, “I feel fortunate to have met so many wonderful people here as a result of the business.”

With so many different offerings, things can get hectic at times. Robyn said, “When I get overwhelmed, I take a step back and think there’s a million people that would love to live the life I’m lucky enough to live.” Her passion for serving Caroline County with her talents and skills is evident as she gives the list of services offered.

Business is booming and yet Robyn is always looking for new ways to serve Caroline County residents. She said they are working on getting a proctor and also on getting the equipment necessary to provide fingerprinting services. They are consistently ready to hear suggestions of new services to add, so if you have a need for a service that you haven’t been able to find locally, give The Paperwork Pros a call and ask Robyn Ritter.
