Constance “Connie” Leonarda Bennett, 94, of Marydel, DE, passed away peacefully at her home.
Born on June 7, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA. Connie was a proud graduate of North Caroline High School, Class of 1949. After high school, she married the love of her life, the late William Bennett, and together they raised a beautiful family.
Connie was a devoted life member of the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company and the VFW. She was also proud to have helped establish the first Little League in Greensboro, MD. She found great joy in baking and painting, sharing her creativity and kindness with everyone she met.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Connie was preceded in death by two sons, Aaron R. Bennett and Brian R. Bennett; two daughters, Karen D. Bennett and Susan M. McCleen; and a grandchild, Scotty Ray Harris
She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her son, Kevin Shane Bennett of Marydel, DE; three grandchildren, Shannon McCleen of Dover, DE, Renee Cummings of Magnolia, DE, and Gabriel Bennett of Maryland; as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, MD. A graveside service will follow the service at Greensboro Cemetery.
