Commissioners Support Eric Cheezum as Next Chesapeake College Board of Trustees Appointee

Posted

DENTON – The Caroline County Commissioners voted at their March 24 meeting to send a letter of support to Governor Wes Moore to appoint Dr. Eric Cheezum to the Chesapeake College Board of Trustees.

With the recent hiring of Milton Nagel as Chesapeake College’s Vice President for Administrative Services, his position as the Caroline County representative on the Board of Trustees was left vacant. While the position is ultimately appointed by the Governor, the Commissioners will be sending a letter detailing why local historian, author, and educator Dr. Eric Cheezum deserves the spot. Dr. Cheezum currently serves on Caroline County’s Burial Sites Preservation Board.

“The Caroline County Commissioners would like to formally recommend the appointment of Dr. Eric Cheezum to the Chesapeake College Board of Trustees,” the letter reads, “Dr. Cheezum brings a strong commitment to public service and a thoughtful understanding of the needs of our community. His professional experience, leadership abilities, and collaborative approach position him to contribute meaningfully to the Board’s mission and strategic priorities.”
