For For All Seasons, grant funding the Caroline Foundation comes at a time of growing need in Caroline County, particularly among uninsured and underinsured residents seeking mental health care.
“For All Seasons provides mental health and victim services to children, adults, and families across Maryland’s Eastern Shore and throughout the state,” said Erica Batson, Director of Grant Operations & IT, “Our services include therapy, psychiatry, victim advocacy, 24-hour crisis hotlines, outreach, and community education. Our unique model of care ensures anyone can receive expert mental health care when they need it—regardless of language or ability to pay.” For All Seasons is also the only behavioral health and rape crisis center currently serving the Mid-Shore.
Over the past year, demand has increased significantly, while inability to afford services or adequate insurance has remained an unfortunate problem. “Receiving this grant is incredibly meaningful for For All Seasons because it allows us to directly address one of the most urgent needs we’re seeing in Caroline County: access to care for uninsured and underinsured residents,” Batson said, “Over the past year, we’ve more than doubled the number of uninsured individuals seeking services, and many would not be able to access care without financial support.”
This funding will be used primarily to assist said uninsured or underinsured clients. “Seeking mental health care is absolutely essential, and early access to support can make a lasting difference,” Batson explained. The grant also supports the organization’s Open Access model, which offers same-day services without waitlists, including walk-in availability at its Denton office and virtual options.
“Mental and emotional health are foundational to public health,” Batson added, “Grants like the Caroline Foundation are essential… It allows us to respond immediately when individuals and families are in need.”
