Caroline County Seeks Citizens to Serve on the Compensation Review Commission

The Caroline County Commissioners are accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the newly created Compensation Review Commission.

This five-member citizen board will review the salaries and allowances of the County Commissioners, which have not changed since 2009, and make recommendations every four years. The Commission provides an independent, community-based perspective to ensure fair and transparent consideration of commissioner compensation.

Qualifications

  • Must be a resident of Caroline County for at least three (3) years
  • Must have an outstanding reputation for civic pride, integrity, and professional ability
  • May not be a current County officer, employee, candidate for elected office, or an immediate family member of a County employee or elected official
  • Must be able to serve without compensation and follow the County Code of Ethics

Term & Service

  • Members serve a four-year term and are eligible for reappointment
  • Members will meet as needed to carry out the duties of the Commission
  • Service is voluntary and unpaid
