CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Posted

Caroline County Public Schools (CCPS) announce the upcoming Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting for its Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. We welcome and encourage local business participation.

The PACs are designed to bring educators and industry professionals together to ensure CTE programs reflect the skills and knowledge needed in today’s workforce. By joining a PAC, community members can share their expertise, strengthen connections between schools and local industries, and play an active role in preparing students for successful careers.

“Strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand,” said Lindsey McCormick, Director of CCR for CCPS. “When local business and industry leaders lend their voices to our CTE programs, they help shape opportunities that benefit both students and the future workforce of Caroline County.”

Each CTE program—including agriculture, automotive, health sciences, cosmetology, construction, engineering, manufacturing, teacher academy, food and beverage management and computer science—will have its own advisory council. Members will meet each year to review curriculum, recommend program improvements, discuss workforce trends, and support opportunities such as guest speakers, job shadows, internships and apprenticeships.

Advisory Committee members not only influence the development of local talent but also benefit from early connections with motivated students who may become future employees. Their involvement ensures that Caroline County graduates are well-prepared with industry-recognized credentials, technical training, and employability skills.

CCPS is actively seeking business owners and workforce professionals who are passionate about education and economic growth to serve on the committees.
