Federalsburg residents are being encouraged to “show up” for their community this summer. Federalsburg Better Together recently launched its “Show Up Federalsburg” Passport Campaign, which is designed to connect residents with local organizations, small businesses, and community events while gathering input for the town’s future.
The campaign is part of Federalsburg Better Together’s broader work under Maryland’s ENOUGH initiative through the Governor’s Office for Children. Led locally by community members and organizations, with the Caroline Human Services Council serving as the ENOUGH Community Quarterback, FBT is currently developing a Neighborhood Action Plan aimed at creating measurable improvements for the community.
The passport campaign serves as both a fun summer activity and a tool for community engagement. Residents can pick up a “Passport to Fun” at participating locations or at FBT tables during a slew of local summer events. Passport holders can then collect stamps for their passports by visiting these same locations. Once six stamps are collected, participants can enter a drawing for a “Federalsburg Fun Box” valued at $500. The drawing will take place during Federalsburg Unity Day on September 26, 2026 at the Federalsburg Marina Park.
Beyond the prize, organizers say the campaign is intended to bring more residents into the conversation about Federalsburg’s future. Through the process, community members are encouraged to share ideas, identify local strengths and challenges, and participate in collaborative activities, including helping shape the Federalsburg Better Together logo.
The Neighborhood Action Plan itself is being developed through community discussions informed by local data, needs assessments, and asset mapping. Organizers say the process focuses not only on creating goals and solutions, but also on building stronger relationships and a greater sense of shared investment within the town.
The campaign officially launched during Federalsburg City League Opening Day on April 25, where volunteers already distributed approximately 80 passports.
Residents can obtain passports and stamps at several locations, including the Federalsburg Town Office, Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, Federalsburg Activities Center, and Federalsburg Judy Center. Passports and stamps will also be available at community events throughout the summer, including Federalsburg Farmers’ Markets and Music on the Marshyhope events at Federalsburg Marina Park. Happy stamp collecting!
