Caroline County Public Schools is proud to partner with the Maryland Pathways to Partnership Initiative (MPPI). This statewide effort is designed to support youth and young adults with disabilities as they prepare for successful futures.
MPPI is a collaboration between the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS). The mission is to provide early, individualized, and supplemental transition services that empower students and families to begin planning for the future, well before high school begins.
This initiative serves two key age groups:
●Youth ages 10–13: MPPI helps students explore their strengths, interests, potential career pathways, and future possibilities early in their academic journey. MPPI introduces them to a range of possibilities, encouraging curiosity and self-discovery.
●Young adult ages 14–21: Older students received targeted support to prepare for life after high school, including education, employment, financial literacy, and independent living. MPPI bridges the gap between career exploration and making informed, real-world decisions about planning for the future.
By beginning this work early, students build self-awareness, confidence, and essential life skills, laying the foundation for independence and long-term success.
MPPI aligns directly with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future: a plan for transforming public education, with a strategic focus on college and career readiness. Integrating career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation into classrooms.
Through MPPI, CCPS is working alongside local agency partners to maximize available resources and strengthen support systems. This collaborative approach ensures every student has access to the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to thrive.
Caroline County Public Schools remains committed to helping all students design meaningful, individualized pathways to the future.
