Barbara J. Mechetti

Barbara J. Mechetti passed away on August 5, 2025. She was 82 years old. Born on January 12, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, Barbara was the cherished first child of the late Shirley and John Lutholtz. She spent her formative years in Baltimore, where she graduated from Eastern High School for Girls in 1961. Barbara distinguished herself as an exceptional accountant, renowned for her dedication and skill. She began her accounting career at various companies before working at Ballenger Buick Dealership. It was there she met the love of her life, William Donald Mechetti. They were married on August 16, 1972, and together, they built a loving home in Laurel, MD, raising their two sons.
Barbara was a woman of deep faith, steadfast in her devotion, and a regular presence at church every Sunday. She possessed an adventurous spirit, often exploring new hobbies, though her dedication to caring for others remained a constant. She particularly cherished family cruises to the Caribbean, creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
Barbara will be fondly remembered as a reserved, mild-mannered woman whose compassionate nature always led her to prioritize and care for those around her.
In additions to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, William Donald Mechetti (2015).
She leaves behind those to mourn her; 2 sons, William Michael Mechetti (Susan), Anthony Vincent Mechetti (Jessica); a sister, Janet Busick (Jim); granddaughter, Megan Williams (Lamar) and two great grandchildren (Janae & Masaun)
