It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alva D. Hagadorn, known by many as "Alvie", who left us on October 26, 2026, at Lofland Care Park in Seaford. He was 85.
Alvie was born on November 14, 1940, in Watertown, New York, a place that held a special place in his heart throughout his life. He was the son of the late Ralph L. Hagadorn and Frances Otis Hagadorn.
His journey began at a young age when, at just 10 years old, he hitchhiked with his uncle Leonard Otis from Watertown to Federalsburg to live with his grandfather Alva Larkins. This experience instilled in him a deep appreciation for family and the bonds that define us.
Alvie's love for adventure and excitement was evident in his passion for riding motorcycles and drag racing at the US 13 Dragway in Delmar. He was a devoted fan of John Wayne movies, finding inspiration in the stories of courage and resilience.
A dedicated driver in the propane delivery industry, Alvie spent over 30 years working for Tri-Gas & Oil until his retirement, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Alvie cherished his hometown and made it a point to visit Watertown whenever he could. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by family and friends who were touched by his warmth and enthusiasm for life.
Alvie is survived by his daughters Donna Hare and Kimberly Seiberlich (Jim); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family in Watertown that will cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, he's preceded in death by his sons Michael Hagadorn and Danny Hagadorn; and several siblings and his beloved grandfather, Alva Larkins.
A visitation will be held at Framptom Funeral Home on November 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of Alvie's life. Burial will be private.
Alva Hagadorn will be greatly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
