Healthy outcomes in a spacious setting

Advantage Rehab moves into former Preston Pharmacy

Posted

Like the vibrant figures depicted in its logos, Advantage Rehab is on the move in Caroline County.

Owners Kim and Chris Schall recently renovated the Midcentury Modern building that formerly housed the Preston Pharmacy at 243 Main Street.

The Caroline County natives moved to Preston when their second location in Federalsburg proved too small at 1,200 square feet, although Dr. Kim said their time in the town was “a wonderful experience.”

The first Advantage Rehab, established in 2011, is located at 103 S. 7th St., Denton.

Now the new 5,000 square foot building provides spacious treatment spaces. The exposed beams and wood flooring provide a barn-like vibe, and there’s room for staff kitchen and office space. “We’re very happy with the move,” Kim said.

“It’s going well and we’re busy,” she said. “We couldn’t be more happy with how Preston has welcomed us.”

Kim and Chris are both graduates of North Caroline High School, where Chris has taught science for 18 years, with a 15-year interval at Colonel Richardson High School. Their six children also are NCHS alumni.

Kim recently completed her doctorate degree in physical therapy with a concentration in business management. She is a treating physical therapist in the Denton location and is certified in dry needling as well as concussion management. She graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Physical Therapy program in 1995.

Chris manages the financial operations of the business. Of their six children, two work for the business and two are expressing interest in the field of physical therapy.

The couple were active in high school sports, with Kim playing softball and volleyball (continuing the sport in college), and Chris an athlete in football, baseball and wrestling. Today, both enjoy the water, either at the beach or on their boat with the kids.
