The Caroline County Garden Club is always looking for ways to give back to the community and for many years has provided Christmas decorations for the county courthouse.
This year the club decided another way to do so was by taking part in the 2025 Compass Festival of Trees, which is being held this weekend, December 6 and 7, at the Towers Family Historical Museum in Denton.
Club member Vista Cheesman, who owns St. Helier Farms on Harmony Road in Preston, donated a 36” wreath created from a variety of evergreens including cedar, white pine, and cypress for the club to decorate.
Roberta Eveland, currently the club’s most senior member with 49 years of membership, decorated the wreath during the club’s Christmas decorating workshop held at the home of member Darlene Clopper on December 1.
Embellishing the base wreath using dried roses, eucalyptus, boxwood, and St. Johns’s Wort, Eveland used a ribbon embossed with an image of holly to wrap around the wreath to complete the look.
“A Garden’s Gift,” as the wreath was named, will be available to the highest bidder at the Festival of Trees.
